Greg Copeland is recognized as an expert in the planning and design of youth camps. He has provided trainings, lectures and seminar’s since 1980. Sponsors include the American Camp Association National Conference, ACA Tri-State Camp Conference, ACA New England Camp Conference, ACA Rocky Mountain Conference, ACA North and South California, ACA Oregon Trail, ACA Ohio, ACA Michigan, the Y of the USA, Girl Scouts of the USA, JCC Association of North America, Christian Camp and Conference Association and the Children’s Oncology Camping Association-International.
China Workshops 2017
In 2017 while working at Domokur Architects we were approached by several Chinese organizations wanting to develop youth camps in China. We were able to connect with an American Company who ran a camp in Northern China. He was able to connect with the Chinese Mountaineering Association which is the government agency responsible for camps in China. They were willing to sponsor 2 workshops. Each workshop was two and a half days in duration. One workshop was north of Bejing and the other workshop was in southern China, near Gaungzhou. The presenters included three staff from Domokur Architects, Stefanie Smith, John Simpson and myself, our American sponsor and two Interpreters. Approximately 60 people attended each workshop. Major topics included the master planning process, buildings for camps, programming and trends.
